Mrs. Arundhati Bhattacharya Honoured With Padma Shri For Contributions To Trade And Industry

Industry maven Arundhati Bhattacharya has been conferred with the prestigious Padma Shri award by the Indian government, recognising her exceptional contributions to the fields of trade and industry. 

Currently serving as the Chairperson and CEO of Salesforce India, Arundhati Bhattacharya has had an storied career. Before joining Salesforce in 2020, she made headlines as the Chairperson of the State Bank of India, a position she held until her retirement in 2017.

She has also been a member of the board of directors at Reliance Industries since 2018, a role she continues to hold.

“I am deeply humbled to receive the Padma Shri award, one of India’s most esteemed recognitions. This honor reflects the incredible opportunities I’ve had to contribute to India’s trade and industry. From my journey in banking to leading Salesforce India, I’ve witnessed how vision and innovation can transform lives and businesses,” said Arundhati Bhattacharya, Chairperson and CEO at Salesforce India.

“My heartfelt gratitude to the Government of India and everyone who has been part of this journey. I also extend my warm congratulations to all the other Padma Awardees whose remarkable contributions continue to inspire and elevate our nation. This award reaffirms my commitment to championing innovation, inclusivity, and resilience in India’s growth story,” she added.

This year's Padma Shri awardees also include notable figures such as venture capitalist Prashanth Prakash, Avon Cycles Managing Director Onkar Singh Pahwa and Century Plyboards Chairman Sajjan Bhajanka.
